From Michelin-starred cuisine to cruise dreams – setting sail for new horizons.

Just one step from the busy Bahnhofstrasse into the Genesis Studio – from the hustle and bustle into the tranquil world of South Korean automobiles and the country’s exquisite delights. A world where temple cuisine meets haute cuisine, where slowness is an essential part of a fulfilled life. The contrast could hardly be greater, and that is precisely what made the Seazen Summer Event so magical.

Seazen author Andrin Willi transported us into the world of Korean cuisine with his vivid storytelling about Jeongkwan Snim – nun, Netflix star, and culinary ambassador. In conversation with author Hoo Nam Seelmann, who recently published a biography of Snim, Willi provided fascinating insights into the philosophy of Korean cuisine, with a special focus on kimchi culture.

Seazen author Bettina Mitter then took us on board Seabourn’s Ovation. Her descriptions of the cruise through European port cities made even die-hard landlubbers dream of endless horizons. Helena Ewen, Senior Business Development Representative at Seabourn, and Dario Cremona, Product Manager for Ship Travel at knecht reisen, explored the future of cruise tourism, tackling pressing questions on sustainability and overtourism.

The evening culminated in a culinary masterpiece blending East and West. Dominik Hartmann, a two-Michelin-starred chef, collaborated with Dreierlei Catering to craft an exquisite flying dinner. His Korean-inspired creations perfectly complemented the evening’s theme, offering guests an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

A heartfelt thank you to our partners – Genesis, knecht reisen, and Seabourn – for making this extraordinary evening possible. Special thanks also to Cornelia Mechler for expertly guiding us through the program and to our inspiring stage guests: Andrin Willi, Hoo Nam Seelmann, Bettina Mitter, Helena Ewen, and Dario Cremona. Behind the scenes, photographer Lukas Lienhard and video producer Djamel M’Rad brought the event to life with their visual storytelling.

Would you like to experience this world for yourself? Then mark your calendar for September 19, 2024 – when the Genesis Studio on Bahnhofstrasse will once again open its doors for the Seazen Autumn Event.
