Radiant colors, lines as if made of light - and a mission that sounds so simple and yet is rare: to spread joy. Romero Britto, Seazen cover artist for the fall 2025 issue, is considered the inventor of harmonious pop art. His works shine like colorful stained glass windows, combining clear contours with playful energy and transforming the everyday into a declaration of happiness and love.
Born in a favela in Recife, Britto could have chosen the dark path of many rebellious artists. Instead, he opted for the sun. His art is not escapism, but an alternative concept – consciously positive, consciously accessible. Whether huge installations in Miami, collaborations with brands such as Hublot, Coca-Cola or Disney, or his latest project “Mona Cat”, which combines physical art with NFTs: Britto is democratizing art.
“Every work of art is a little guide to a happy life,” he says. And you believe him – because his paintings, as exuberant as they seem, are actually the result of discipline, curiosity and respect for life.
Friedrich Kisters, Head of Arts at Seazen, met the Brazilian pop art star in Constance for a personal interview. The exclusive interview shows Britto as an artist who has created a world full of color, optimism and warmth from the simplest of beginnings.
