VORARLBERG, AUSTRIA

Alpine Water Festival in the Klostertal

July 2 to 5, 2026

Advertorial

Four days, one element. From July 2 to 5, 2026, everything in Vorarlberg’s Klostertal revolves around water. The first Alpine Water Festival brings together nature, energy, cuisine, and family adventure—organized around four themes: Wasser.ERLEBEN, Wasser.KRAFT, Wasser.GENUSS, and Wasser.FAMILIE. Each one makes the element visible, tangible, and alive in its own way.
The Klostertal is well suited to it. Streams, springs, and mountain lakes are part of everyday life here. The festival picks them up and turns the self-evident into a program.

Wasser.ERLEBEN

Water in motion—on the mountain, along the stream, at the waterfall. A guided via ferrata tour at the Fallbach near Innerbraz (Friday, 9:00 a.m.), Kneipp treatments with instruction at the Kneipp & Relax Garden Alfenz in Klösterle (Friday, 10:00 a.m.), and evening Pilates by the water in Dalaas as the day winds down (Friday, 6:30 p.m.).

Wasser.KRAFT

Water as a source of energy—and as an occasion to consider how we use it. A tour of the Spullersee hydroelectric power station shows how alpine water becomes electricity (Saturday 2:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m.). For something more playful, the 1st Klostertal Fountain Rally runs from fountain to fountain through the valley (Friday, 2:00 p.m.).

Wasser.GENUSS

The culinary focus. The highlight is the “Klostertal Culinary Rally by the Water”: five courses, five restaurants, five stations along the water (Thursday, 5:30 p.m.). Alongside it, an alpine drinks course with chef Tobias Schöpf, centered on fermented beverages (Saturday, 9:30 a.m.). Regional, honest, refreshingly different.

Wasser.FAMILIE

For every generation, with room to explore. Build your own wooden water wheel in Innerbraz (Friday, 1:00 p.m.), the hands-on “WasserWunder” station in Bludenz (Saturday, 2:00 p.m.), and Family Day at the Sonnenkopf, when the mountain becomes an adventure ground (Sunday, 8:30 a.m.).

Saturday Evening

The standout needs no registration—and it’s free to attend. As darkness falls, a Water Screen takes shape in the Almwasserpark: a fan-shaped mist of water serving as a screen for high-resolution video projection. Add regional street food and live music. Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Good to Know

You register separately for each part of the program, as a rule no later than three days in advance—some offerings only go ahead once a minimum number of participants is reached. All venues are easy to reach by the No. 720 bus line; with the guest card, buses and trains throughout Vorarlberg are free from your first overnight stay.
Book early and you’ll have the wider choice. Selected partner accommodations—among them the Arlberg Resort Klösterle and the Alpine Lodge Klösterle—offer a package combining a stay with a guaranteed ticket to the Culinary Rally. The Klostertal is not a place for a quick stopover, but a valley that deserves your attention.
