A Mediterranean weekend getaway

ON THE COCKTAILS,

DONE, GO!

In our latitudes, summer may be over, but that doesn’t mean it has to end completely. Our vacation hearts are yearning for an extension. So, the only question left is: What am I packing and taking with me? The answer: your friends and cocktail mood.

Mallorca – with its vibrant capital, Palma – is the ideal spot to stretch summer just a little longer. That’s why we set out to find the perfect starting point and the trendiest bars for your getaway.

A beautiful boutique and designer hotel in the heart of Palma de Mallorca

An enjoyable evening in Palma begins at the Hotel Cort with an exquisite meal at the hotel’s own Raw & Grill restaurant, which has earned a stellar reputation far beyond the borders of the Mallorcan capital. The drinks menu is expertly paired with the various raw or grilled fish and meat dishes, offering a selection of aperitifs, special cavas, unique wines – including those typical of the island – and non-alcoholic options.

If you feel like exploring Palma’s bar scene after dinner, Hotel Cort’s director, Sven Rasch, is more than happy to share his personal favorite spots. Thanks to the boutique hotel’s central location on the traffic-calmed Plaça de Cort, with its historic town hall and 600-year-old olive tree, the journey back to bed is always short, even after a long evening of cocktails.

Creativity in a glass: at the Brassclub.

The Brassclub is located in the heart of Palma, exuding a New York ambience reminiscent of the 1950s. Its cocktails are legendary, and connoisseurs know that the creativity of the team, led by chef Rafa Martín, knows no bounds. This bar is far more than just a pub – it’s a haven for innovative, artfully prepared cocktails.

The bartenders are more than happy to take inspiration from the wishes of their international guests, ensuring a unique experience every time. And it’s not just your taste buds that are pampered at the Brassclub – every drink is a visual delight, as is the fine menu offering snacks for those with a small appetite in between sips.

Chapeau 1987! For the classic cocktail evening

The industrial design bar *Chapeau* is still an insider tip for those seeking a classic cocktail evening. With a vast selection of over 150 types of whisky and an equally diverse drinks and cocktail menu, the bar attracts both locals and visitors to Palma. In 2020, *Chapeau* won the “Best Cocktail Menu” award at the *FiBar* trade fair, a recognition that reflects its creativity and excellence.

Owner Matías Iriarte and his team place great emphasis on using local products, sometimes crafting drinks with unusual ingredients like cold-pressed fennel or white pepper, adding an unexpected twist to their expertly mixed cocktails.

Hotspot for gin lovers: the Ginbo.

Mallorca’s Mediterranean climate and gin are a „winning team“ – and not just Cort director Sven Rasch is convinced of this. For many, it feels like a stroke of luck that Ginbo, Palma’s hotspot for gin lovers, is located right next to the boutique hotel on Plaça de Cort.

As the name suggests, everything at Ginbo revolves around the trendy drink. In this wood-paneled cult bar, you’ll find over 100 gin varieties and a large selection of gin-based cocktails on the menu. And if you’re feeling creative, you can even craft your own personalized gin and tonic.
