At the Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido in South Tyrol.
It all began in 1957, when Maria and Josef Falkensteiner opened a small guesthouse in the Puster Valley in South Tyrol. With just 7 beds, including the children’s room of their two sons, Erich and Andreas, they laid the foundations for today’s Falkensteiner empire. There are now over 30 different Falkensteiner Hotels and Residences in seven European countries. The family business continues to grow, but they have remained true to their philosophy for over 60 years: down-to-earth, reliable, and hospitable.
Almost 65 years later, the small guesthouse became today’s Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido. Freshly renovated and generously rebuilt, the family hotel opened in November 2021 in new splendor. A true paradise for families.
„Welcome Home“ is the motto on arrival. In the lobby, carousel tables, rocking chairs, hanging chairs, and a construction and play corner await the children. The children dash off and can simply be children here: wild, cheeky, and free. So check-in is super relaxed, and the vacation in South Tyrol can begin.
True to the motto: Eat, Play, Sleep, Repeat
„Mom, I’m hungry, when are we going to eat?“ is a sentence you will rarely hear. With Full Board Plus, all guests are spoiled with culinary delights almost around the clock. The 12 courtyards gourmet kitchen turns every meal into an experience. From antipasti all’ italiana to fresh pizza, pasta, and sweet temptations, there is something for everyone. Market stalls and live cooking make mealtimes interactive for families. Younger guests are given their own Falky menu and can eat exactly what they like to their heart’s content.
The Rooftop Sky Adventure Park is located on the roof of the family resort. Guests can ski here all year round. The 110-metre-long slope is unique in the global vacation hotel industry – it feels identical to a real ski slope. There are ski courses for beginners, and otherwise, you can just try it out.
Football, field hockey, and basketball are played in the outdoor gym. Bobby cars can be raced on a small race track. Another highlight is the Valojump on the roof. Here, young and old can have fun jumping through treetops and clouds. The interactive trampoline world is the first in an Italian hotel. The children jump and play together for hours, and even the odd adult becomes a child again and rescues the princess from the villain.
The longest water slide in South Tyrol, with a length of 120 meters, provides pure adrenaline in the water world. A wave slide, baby pool, indoor pool with infinity outdoor pool, and natural lake round off the offer for water rats. Doing nothing and relaxing is best done in the spacious sunbathing area on several levels. There is a pleasantly quiet atmosphere here, where parents can also really relax.
And the family sauna with a view over the resort makes wellness at the Falkensteiner Lido family hotel a complete experience for everyone. The continuous baby and childcare from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a varied program makes wellness possible for families with children. Parents can enjoy their vacation to the full, for example, in the adults-only wellness area with saunas, relaxation room, and Acquapura SPA with natural cosmetic products.
The rooms in the family hotel are newly renovated and very family-friendly – with their own sleeping area for the children – some with a falcon’s nest, others with a castle as a sleeping, cuddling, and play area. The “standard equipment” includes: changing mat, cribs, fall-out protection, bathrobes, and slippers in all sizes. There is really nothing missing for relaxed nights.
A baby kitchen with a cooking corner is available 24 hours a day for the youngest guests. Time at the Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido flies by. The children quickly make new friends, get to know each other, play, romp, do arts and crafts, swim, and are happy all round. Parents can enjoy themselves carefree, as everyone is well looked after.
